I play ff11 on a big ass pc, but have a laptop that I bought to keep in touch with outside world while I was marooned in Canada last summer. It's spring break now and I can't bring pc home so decided to copy the installation to laptop, to my surprise it actually worked out ok with an ethernet cable only taking about 30 minutes to do 10gb. downloaded a bat file to register all the dlls etc, worked fine, managed to remember my password, and bam...
doesnt meet hardware requirements lol.. totally forgot my laptop has no 3d card.
so, gonna be away for 2-3 weeks after tomorrow. good luck with stuff

I'll find some photos of my at that age (maybe :S) and point out to everyone how he looks just like me
In other exciting news, I found a program called 3danalyze which bascailly emulates a 3d card and got ff11 to work with it. runs quite smoothly and fast without any noticeable change in gfx quality (presumabley because its crap already haha)
but no windowed mode available
