My experiementation with SE account, tokens and satchel rights. More info will be added as seen fit to post.
1. Square Enix Account
a. PlayOnline ID's linked to Square Enix IDs are Permanent
All POL IDs linked to a Square Enix account are permanantly linked. If you cancel your Square Enix account, you will not be able to log into any PlayOnline ID that was linked to the cancelled account.
b. Restore Cancelled Square Enix Accounts
As the Square Enix site says, you cannot restore a cancelled Square Enix account. BUT, if you call up PlayOnline support, they will be able to reinstate your cancelled Square Enix Account. The following information will be required
- The cancelled Square Enix ID
- The email associated to the account
- The date of birth you registered on the account
c. Can POL IDs be unlinked from a SE account?
Negative. You're stuck with typing in that SE password for life. -- If you linked someone else's POL ID to your SE account for the purpose of leeching a Satchel, that person will need your SE login/pass in order to play FFXI.
2. One Time Password Token
a. Token can only be linked and activated to an SE account once
- as soon as you cancel a token, it's trash
b. Malfunction / Power shortage / etc -- if token no longer works:
- you will need to buy a new one to continue using the one-time password feature
3. Satchel
a. One-Time PW tokens must be active in order for new characters to obtain satchel access
b. Cancelled One Time PW Tokens
- New characters created after cancelling the one-time PW token will not receive Satchel rights
- New POL IDs linked to a Square Enix account that no longer has a one-time PW token will not receive Satchel rights
- Upgrading Gobbie bags after cancellation of token will increase Satchel bag size accordingly -- CONFIRMED
- Grandfathering: Reactivating disabled characters on a POL account which a character on this account already has Satchel access will also have Satchel access -- needs confirmation
