My Lost AF

#1 Post by Cynic »

As I'm sure you all knew from lasts night reaction from me, I didn't take losing AF2 very well - I knew that it was no ones fault and that the game is just evil like that, yet I still managed to take anger out on other victomless LS mates, HappyHumans is by far the most serious/organized Dynamis Group I have ever gone with, and I deeply apologize if anyone took offense to what I said in LS Chat afterwards (Yenyoji). I think I built up so much happiness/tension when it dropped, then it just all turned around on me and I freaked out. I know it's part of the game and #*%^ happens, so i just want to apologize to everyone who witnessed me freaking out >< I promise I will keep it to myself next time.

once an AF drop in last 3mins, consider urself unlucky, it is almost as good as lost because u rarely can find more than a handful of LS able to pass + everyone to pass together

and its SE fault.....thats just too bad nothing we can do....fuming is no problem but please dont take out on the LS member next time

One more suggestion, if you win your AF2, just be quiet and enjoy it, or just tell us you are happy. It's no problem, everyone is happy after winning an af. But really, you dont need to try to comfort or feel sorry to others who lose their AFs. You can't do anything about it and I don't think you can understand their feeling. It's another reason to piss people off.

I don't know, Holy--it's my nature to try and comfort people, even if I am not in the same situation. If I never tried to understand others, I think I'd go crazy. If I never tried to make people feel good about our achievements, or to share in their pain, I don't think I'd be much of a team player. It always makes me kind of upset when people silently win AF2. It's like they don't even care, they don't thank LS mates, they don't say, "Let's get it for everyone, we can do this, ganbatte!"

I was only trying to keep people cheered up. There was SERIOUS bad mojo going on in the BLM alliance, and the last thing I wanted was people to think I didn't appreciate all the hard work put into it.

The only thing that made me mad was the fact that people don't have AF2 and haven't gotten it after much much more effort than Cynic. That's not to demean his efforts as a player. He has been a good BLM. But it's inexcusable to lash out at the team, and I wont' just sit back and let someone go because they lose their temper.

Cynic--apology accepted, everyone loses their cool, and you were having a rough day. Bygones are bygones.

It's a support group for those who haven't gotten AF2 or have lost it to the Gods of Dynamis.

I agree with bean. If you get af, be happy but don't try to comfort others who lost. The best thing you can do is go on with Dynamis as if nothing happened.

Acting as if nothing happens only makes those people seem cold and like they don't care. This is a team operation, if we're so distant with each other we'll just end up failing in the end. We need to work towards being close-knit group, understanding and helping each other. We need to care about the other members and the goals of Dynamis (beating DL, not just get AF2 for everyone). If Dynamis becomes a cold distant group, then I have to quit it. I wouldn't want to spend ~3 hour blocks every friday with a group for months and months (and tuesday with another group, several shared individuals) just for them to treat me as an utterly and complete stranger.

In my opinion, FFXI is about community. Endgame is about community. People who just take that rare drop and disappear (literally or figuratively) doesn't build a community.
