About Being Timely

#1 Post by Kirakun »

The meet time is 10:15PM (It used to be 10:30 three weeks ago, but not anymore). I've seen many people coming late, around 11, 11:15 (only a few people have work til 11PM). and we end up entering the zone like 11:45. I live in the EST time zone and I get home around 6PM, tired and worked out, then basically try not to do anything before Dynamis so I don't feel extra stressed by raid time. But I do get annoyed when people don't show on time when they are supposed to. Sometimes I see people in exp parties, camping NM or just standing in Jeuno. We need to have the raids start by 11:15 the latest, because many of us get extremely tired at the end of the raid. I for one, am one of them.

Yes, the game is meant to be fun for you, but you must think about all the others that are waiting on you when there is a scheduled event. Being late or not posting when you cannot come, means I must modify lineups on the spot which is more work than you may think. If you don't care about being timely because you think "We're always late" then maybe I should not care about you and find someone else that's shows a bit more respect.

I am not only speaking for myself, but for Arthars as well as those who are always at the meeting area early.

It annoys me too, becuse I work Saturday mornings. The extra hour of sleep I get before work really does help.

I dont know how you can get people to show up ontime, but theres always my suggestion. Ask people to show up at 9:30, that way people will see its 9:30, and start to leave, and by the time they get there it will be 10:15-10:20.

That way they get to be late, and we get to start on time.

lol, thanks for posting this. People in the EST time zone suffer the most. Starting raids at midnight totally sucks cause we don't finish til' like 3:30AM and sometimes I get too exhausted to play anymore by around 2:00AM. This problem also seriously affects performance of alot of HH players. I notice it in others and I notice it in my own actions. Its a problem of discipline and I firmly believe its one of the reasons why we haven't killed Dynamis Lord yet.

This part in particular is exactly how I feel. There have been raids where I have literally almost passed at my desk, and other times where I just could not continue on and had to leave to get some sleep.

Also, going to sleep 2 hours before I am supposed to start work isn't too much fun.

You should check out the Cheeseburger rules on being late.

Good incentive to be on time.

Not saying we need to go that far, but something would be nice for those that are on time all the time.

It doesn't effect just EST people. There are those of us from PST and what not who rush their bums off to be there on time as much as possible. I'm sure everyone has tried their hardest to be on time but everyone suffers, no matter the time zone. Sure it gets super duper late on EST but we all stay up late anyways.. in the end its kind of the same late-ness as it is if you go do some event... and all suffers...
And it's just unfair for those who come early to have to wait so long for the others. It's selfish on the part of those who know that there are people there early and just take some time to get around to coming and it's rude.
I don't make sense... I need to sleep... WHEEEEE

I mention this coz the last three or four raids I've been getting super sleepy during the last 25% of the raid (which is maybe equivalent to about an hour) that I can't quite keep my eyes open. It's the point between being concious, but at the same time your body can't move lol..
