City strategy suggestion

#1 Post by Alpsyche »

Hi Kira and co.

We've had 2 city raids where we've come short on time.
We aren't wiping and I'm not pulling any slower than usual.

What I think is happening is we're using the All on 1 strategy that we use in the iceland areas.

I think it's safe to say once we get sufficient PLD's and BLM's that we should go back to 2 alliances for fighting. We're always pressed for time and even with the heroic efforts of the team on Friday, we only got the Mega to 1/2. (we probably shouldn't have engaged him at all, but I felt we had to try and make a shot at it.)

If we can try that again in SanD that would probably help our chances out a lot more.

Cheers,

Alp

I would go back to the 2 assist setup if most people decide to show up. In the past when we ran the 2 assist method, we always had 55-60 people, so enough DD we're around. As of late, the attendance has dropped down, currently averaging 45-48 which make a huge difference in how effective and effcient mobs are dealt with two assists compared to one.

There just weren't enough damage dealers to splits into a two assist setup last Friday, which was why I avoided it. If I did, I think there was just enough to for each alliance to have maybe 6 DD per alliance, with the rest being tanks/mages. The setup for Friday was (I think) 17(BLM+Puller), 17(A1), 12(A2).

With the new roll rule being implemented, which takes effect this Friday, I'm going to look for some extra members to add to the team. With the slide in attendance, the chances of defeating DL or doing attestations are quite slim.

ya, i realised alot of people not showing on friday runs

this even affect out last Xarca run which we cannot even finish with the NMs(only 41 people that day)

We should be doing more and better after each raid, and not fall behind

alot of people are losing the interest in FFXI lately and only showing up for runs and gods...ah well... I wish you guys all luck in dynamis and it would be cool seeing HH kill DL...of course I will force caime to play when that day comes and it will come! I will kick caime outta his house and start the cs stun on DL ghehehe

You got to take into account that school has started and people are gonna be busier now. Some might even be out partying Friday nights or having a hang over from friday and forget to wake up in time for dynamis sat morning. I dont know if this is the case or not. I just dont understand why people cant post online when they cant come, its not hard.

TRUE STRIKE to that. It's rude and disrespectful to all of us when we get 20+ people who don't show and over half don't even post on the appropriate thread that they can't come. I'd really like to kill Dynamis Lord but we can't do it with 45 people.

I think its a blend of people being in school now and poeple losing interest in FFXI. A lot of people I know in various groups and raids *only* log into ffxi for dynamis and nothing more. ^^:

We have a very late night dynamis for those in the eastern North American time zones, which I think prevents a lot of people from coming due to school and or work.
For me our usual enter time is 11:30 pm and we dont get out until around 3-4am for me. ><

maybe an earlier start time we'd be able to keep more peopel in the raid (a lot leave early) or make it easier for others to come.
