One of the screens shows the menus according to the character being a girl when the camera is still clearly following the male.
In the K.O. screen, the player is wearing Seer's equip(?) and his mini avatar in the corner is still nude.
Its probably beta stuff, but the revised GUI is a fantastic idea if they ever want to make FFXI a marketble game for a new platform. I mean, its been out for almost two years... how else would they make it worthwhile?
Hmmm... I've been following FFXI on X360 quite a bit, and I can't recall seeing those screen shots. The last video I saw of the game was the 22nd and it was still running the same setup as PC/PS2.
If these are real however, it looks pretty sweet. I'd be all for it. Not to mention the 720p, upped texures and longer draw distances are pretty nice. Can't say for sure that it would revolutionize the games playability or anything, but it's a nice clean up.

Yeah, the more I look at it... it seems more fake. Like they wouldn't give people on the 360 a recast timer or small advantage like that >_> I wouldn't think.
Ummm I'm going to have to find the link, but I specifically remember these screenshots from a post on a FFXI LJ community, but in format (gui) we are all used to. These screenies look doctored.
Also, if he's running in Bastok, why are his Blizzard and Thunder timers still counting down. Last I checked their cooldown wasn't that long, so that means he chain nuked and warped immediately? Don't see any signet icons, or a stoneskin icon since he apparantly just casted it.

Recast timers are set to 0 when you zone. Its great if your trying to raise a party or alliance. Raise someone then zone and come back and raise another.
This is just a lot of eye candy. If MS is trying to sell their supreme graphics of XBox360 on a change of GUI from a game that's already 2yrs old then maybe they need to work a real game >_>;
