Selling Relic Armor

#1 Post by Cett »

Hey all, since no negative input has come as of yet gonna make this the official forum for this topic. I'll get the powerpoint uploaded sometime later or at least screen shots of each slide! Feel free to post your ideas here for how to manage the selling of relics. Also, we'll need to develop a small hierarchy system for selling them at certain price ranges. Will need input on which pieces should fall into which categories per zone. Anyway enjoy the weekend all! :db:

Thinking the screen-shots might be helpful for those of us without the latest updates for Power Point. Granted I just updated mine to view it though.

I'm liking the idea for theft prevention to make them bazaar glass or D2 them. I like the idea of using the Gil generated by the relic selling to fund non-sponsored, or not as popular to sponsor raids (such as the Ice zones). I'm hoping that this idea will get people to update their lots and or set their lots to something, because I've noticed that if an AF goes into the "free lot" zones of 70 ~ Mannequin seldom anyone will lot anything until it's in Mannequin. Although I'm sure it has to do with the fact that they have some priority AF in a zone that they're wanting to lot without having that lot count as their lot... and then the AF they really wanted for that night drops.

I'm pretty sure this has already been considered but I thought I should mention it. I propose that we have a list posted of potential buyers for AFs so that it's easy to keep track of people, as well as maybe making notations if we have problems with someone, or other matters having to do with it. Also in the same list, maybe mark if they've gotten their AF or if they're still on a "waiting" list so to speak.

"Distribute the money to persons who remain for entire Dynamis raid. (Gil/# of people)"
This option seems to be the most fair of the three; it benefits all members equally.
"Use first 250k to pay for the first half entry not being hosted, then distribute remainder?"
That half of the glass's cost is already paid for by the currency lotted by the officer(s). Are you proposing that the officers don't lot on currency if we have buyer(s)?
"This'll be more of an LOL idea, but could use a percentage of the gil to aid relic progression of Happy Humans members."
Upgraders are already getting discounted currency via sponsorship and can purchase more currency from ls leader usually at lower than at the market price, so there is no need to give them more gil.

Only would go through with this if the linkshell agreed to aid our sponsors even further. (If only we had some speed belts)

Ya it would cease the lotting of every other currency by officers.

Well, to continue progress with this project. Lets compile three lists of relics that will fall into the categories provided in the presentation above. Starting with the Top tier class items. Off the top of my head I'll add a few(I'll also categorize them by zone).

Rdm Hat
//Blm Hat
Cor Hat
Nin Hands
Smn Head
Drg Head(Added by Satabi)
Thf hands(Added by Reinika)

Glacier:
Rdm body
Blu Body
Sch Body
Smn Body
Whm Body
Blm Body
Ranger feet

Jeuno:
Mnk hands (Added by Mate)

Bastok:
Smn Hands
Sam Hands
Rdm(hands?)
Blm pants

Sandy:
Smn Feet
Mnk Pants(Added By Kazekuro)
Nin Pants(Added By Kazekuro)
Rdm (feet?)

I'd rather see the gil distributed evenly and have leader still lot the coins. The 'chance' that coins will fall to me is not better than just straight out dividing the gil IMO. For one, then I'd have to sell the coins to get gil etc. Rather just see a straight division of gil.

I would actually argue that black mage hat is not that awesome. At least not in the context. It's a skill piece, meaning no BLM would need to normally unless fighting things like sky gods... if they have an LS to fight sky god, they probably have an LS to do dynamis... I'm not sure the market for it will be as high as you think for that reason. (But maybe they're too lazy to go to their own dynamis who knows could be lol I suppose I shouldn't underestimate the laziness)

You forgot THF Hands >.> TH4 kinda important.

Hm. Could make an argument that white mage legs (jeuno) are nice. +20 to barspells is good, but again only for end game really.

That's all for now, at work currently.

Ideas to prevent theft
I don't want to MPK. What I would do is this:
  • Leaver the Buyer outside until the item drops
  • The Doorman outside will then sell a glass to the Buyer for the AF2 purchase price when the item drops
  • Both the Doorman and Buyer enter
  • Buyer puts their glass in bazaar for 1gil
  • Buyer lots their item only
  • Doorman buys the Buyer's glass once the AF2 falls to them.
If the Buyer is seen making a new glass then we need to do something. We can outlot them and only return half their money when they exit the zone for example. If they try to lot everything or ninja items, then need to do something more drastic... maybe a player warning post on KI, Alla, BG?

Distribution
I like the idea where our run is divided into segments, or blocks, of time. Gil distribution would go:
dyna_distro.jpg
dyna_distro.jpg (18.89 KiB) Viewed 8384 times
(AF2/(blocks*people))*time spent
(2,000,000/(6*6))*3 for Tom

as step 1. If you left early, this is what you get. Then the total of all the shares is added up and subtracted from the af2 money (the Money left in the pic).

In this case the subtotal was 1,833,333 and had 166,667 left over. I would then divide that by 5 and add that to the people who stayed full time. This can be done by just noting attendance, when we entered, when we exited, and when people left. If we stayed 3 hours in a zone, we could divide that into 6 blocks of 30 mins.

EDIT: These are just my opinions, I'm not putting anything into motion until we get a group vote or whatever.

Some suggestions to add for top tier items.

Xarcabard
PLD body (If it's ever open; also pretty sure that this was common sense, but didn't see it listed.)

Sandy
MNK Legs (I think that they're good if you do have Byakko or Shura Haidates, or Bahamut's Hose)
NIN Legs (Same as above, but only applicable to Byakko Haidate)

Windy
PUP Hands (Not really sure that anything for PUP is better for hands than Usukane hands)

I know they're not really make or break pieces in most cases, but I figure if people are looking to buy armor from a Dynamis shell, it's because they can't really do Dynamis (schedule or other stuff that prevents them I mean). The pieces in Sandy I put because of the fact that they're good stand-by's for a Haidate.

Otherwise, I agree with Mosh on the attendance deal for payouts being fair.

I've always been under the impression that pld relic body is only epeeeenn item. The practical use of it is few and far between. So I'm not all to convinced it should be in the top tier'd list in comparison with say, rdm hat. But thats where I stand for that.

As for Mosh's loot distribution, If you wanna keep track of everything go ahead! That's way too much work for me. In the event that a person leaves early, and then a buyer gets a drop, or multiple drops; should that individual be included in the gil distribution? (You'd also have to toss out gil in during the raid if they left instead of hunting them down through the week) It seems like it could get chaotic.

^

As opposed to taking the people who stay till the very end, and rewarding them for staying the entire run and easily distributing to those who are present, then you're done!

There's that whole problem of if a person stays for like 90% of the run and gets nothing for it.

PLD relic body was the best enmity body pre-hydra haubert(lol) for a long time. Somewhere along the lines Atonement came in and if you have Atonement, and the mob is meleeable, Haubergeon (and in some cases Ares) beat out your enmity body for Idle/TP and AF2 was only used for JA swap or if the mob wasn't meleeable.

Then Iron Ram came and beat it easily as an enmity piece. I have AF2 body and Iron Ram... I'd only use AF2 for Cover... and even when AF2 was at its strongest that was still seriously situational unless you were something other than /NIN for whatever reason.

--

If someone left midrun and an AF2 dropped after they left they would still get the same share of gil I highlighted in the above post. They still helped us get the AF2 by helping us with the run. And hell no am I tracking people down throughout the week or paying them midrun. In fact, I couldn't pay them midrun even if I felt like it. I need to know how long everyone stayed before I can see who is owed what.

I'd pay people every Friday... or every other Friday... etc.
