After another speed grind fest last night (10k/hr!), I noticed a couple of things regarding weapon wear.
There's 3 states of weapon wear:
0%-10%
- Hindered melee/magic accuracy
- Half damage
- Minimal SP gain in groups (rate of solo it seems)
11%-50%
- Hindered melee/magic accuracy
- Full damage
- Moderate SP gain in groups
51%-100%
- Full melee/magic accuracy
- Full damage
- Maximized SP gain in groups
Other observations/forum reads:
Causes for faster weapon degradation:
- AOEing cures/nukes etc (for mages)
- Taking damage from the front/parrying
Weapon Wear Observations
Re: Weapon Wear Observations
Good stuff Kira. I agree with pretty much all of it except the following:
Causes for faster weapon degradation:
-AOEing cures/nukes etc
I actually think AOEing cures has a lot more of an effect on weapon wear than AOEing nukes. When Mierin and I pt, my cane wears down a LOT faster than hears (I focus on healing, she focuses on nuking). These are just observations though, no proof to them.

Re: Weapon Wear Observations
Are the number of nukes vs cures about equal? If so, I think you may be on to something ;o

Re: Weapon Wear Observations
I would think it is, in those XP PTs I probably do more cures than she does nukes, due to casting times.Kirakun wrote:Are the number of nukes vs cures about equal? If so, I think you may be on to something ;o
But when we were doing island crabs, we both started at 100%. I was in the red for my cane (about 15%) before she even got yellow damage.
