Suggestions for PLD

True but why is that? Higher hp? We kite more? We can heal ourself? Ninja are stupid?
Just seems easier to tank most things in this game as a ninja to get enmity faster with dmg and voke. Then again giving paladin other ways to make enmity might make some things too easy.
Ahkow it might be vit like you said. I only have +40 when I use enmity setup but still seems the disminish dmg reduction return based on defense is kinda ridiculous. By taking damage like that, it ends up subbing nin to reduce hate loss from dmg is more viable in nearly all battle lasting more than 1 min.
Paladin still fun though.

Ninja in FF are too godly. Although I play NIN myself, the thought of being partially invincible, is appealing at first, but it's not much of a challenge.
I've started PLD myself (yea I'm a taru..), and the dimished effectiveness of stats in FF are just stupid. The most noticible difference so far, was just getting from level 6 to 7, giving only 2 more VIT, a huge difference is seen. Playing my brother's PLD on the otherhand, racking up on VIT and def, then tanking NM, not much difference is seen in dmg taken. The VIT vs STR and Def vs Atk in the amount of damage taken in FF is governed by a x^2 curve, which sucks when it comes to higher lvl tanking on PLD.

NIN is only good in soloing, dealing damage in XP merit PTs and tanking in sky
in land HNMs(if u guys ever try) u will know its PLD only. Even sea is PLD only (sj nin good in sea)

If they ever gave PLD provoke, I would sub WHM or RDM more than anything else honestly. Yeah /NIN is great and all, but it wouldn't keep hate a well as compared to a few curaga II's thrown in with cure IV's and flashes. Plus we could use stoneskin, blink, phalanx, erase, and dispel at our disposal. And with /RDM, PLD's could use the en spells to keep a little more hate and PLD/WHM or /RDM would have like 100+ to thier MP added. To put it simple, a PLD/WHM or /RDM would make the mages job just as easy, or possibly easier than PLD/NIN. It's also cheaper too cause ya don't have to use tools

well backlash, due to me being Taru, I dont have to worry about MP seeing as I have 475mp with cassie and physical(lol), and NIN sub does actually give more vit than WAR sub and shadows would be nice to avoid anything big(say like AM or some huge spike damage). Actually I would imagine MNK sub being better because then you have boost every 15 seconds, voke every 30 and flash every 37(haste)/45(unbuffed), how's that for hate? sure I can understand how nice buffs from RDM or WHM sub would be, but... if you're getting hit(which you should be) you can't cast things like stoneskin phalanx or Curaga's, if you're lucky on timing, stoneskin and phalanx are just too long of a cast. I've experimented with almost every possible sub(sans MNK since it's lv20 now, lv6 anytime before two weeks ago).
The concept of blinks are good, however, they are over-rated. /nin is good for something, however, for most thing a pld needs todo, the blinks would get torn off. It's just my 2 gil, take it or leave it. From my point of view (aka as a Rdm) /war gives many tools for getting hate, on top of ja's pld has.

I did pld/nin on Jailer of hope this weekend with 3 ninja. They all eventually died but I stayed alive. Maybe it's luck but maybe not. Still hate was solid after a minute 2. Tanked Ix'Aern monk also. It does go pretty well like you said Arthars. I'll stick to it in sea.
Btw pld/war cannot tank Hope really. Enstun and burst 2 sucks.
My issue with paladin is mainly in xp. Might seem kinda unimportant but it's still a big part of our time playing this game. I usually xp as pld/nin part DD part healer and let a ninja tank.
